Some may think that Podcasting is only for hobbyists and DJ wannabes. But, it may surprise you to learn that businesses - some very large companies - have been Podcasting for years. IBM, RealNetworks, Oracle, Disney, and General Motors to name but a few


Latest research tells us that "The listening audience for Podcasting is not the 18-year-olds with their iPods so much as it is people a little bit older." They're finding demographics in the mid-30s and upward. You're typical well educated consumer. Then there is the silver surfers my mum, who is in her late 60s likes to listen to Podcasts on cooking and travel.


Just search for the latest download figures from the BBC. People can take a podcast with them on their mobile phone and listen at their leisure. I take about 50 podcasts with me on holiday as its the only chance I get to catch up.


People listen in the car, on the train, in the office, anywhere they like. The real beauty about audio Podcasts is the pictures in the mind they can paint are better than TV. I would even argue that when done well better than online video. There I said it!
